The series of tests that may be required before your breast augmentation can include but are not limited to a mammogram, a stress test and a blood test which is done by a phebotomist.

A stress test will only be performed if the surgeon is concerned about your cardiovascular system. Plenty of time is necessary to complete these tests before your procedure is scheduled.

Taking medications such as ibuprofen and aspirin can alter the way your blood clots, these medications should not be consumed for several days before your surgery. If you are taking any prescription medications, it is important to advise your doctor so they can advise you whether or not it is safe to take continue taking these medications. The amount of oxygen that is available to your body is very important.

Smoking can slow down and complicate the healing process so it is necessary that you stop smoking for a minimum of 2 weeks before and after surgery.

Body Care before Breast Augmentation

Ensuring that your body is as free from bacteria as possible, it is important that you minimize any skin care and beauty products. These products can cause infections on the breast implants. Using a special antibacterial soap may be suggested by your doctor, rather than your regular cleanser. It is also very important that you give your body a thorough scrub in the areas where your surgery will take place including the breasts, abdomen, and armpits.
